mule-ear, side hammer, bar-lock (Gilbert Patent-style). 33 7/8” ½ round, ½
octagon barrel, bore & rifling VG. Barrel affixed w/ one wedge. Dovetailed
semi-buckhorn rear sight - front sight is small brass post, flattened into
blade. Barrel in the white w/ an O/A brown patina. Brass non-set trigger.
Engraved hook breech tang. Half-stock w/ pewter nose cap. Ambidextrous walnut
stock, cheekpiece on both sides. Brass crescent butt, trigger, trigger guard &
ramrod thimbles. Hook breech barrel tang, lock plate & hammer face nicely
engraved w/ floral motif. One hairline crack from front of lock plate 1” long on
right side & left side a 3/8” long hairline crack from the lock screw escutcheon
plate. Overall VG + condition & function is excellent. Ref; The New York State
Firearms Trade by H. J. Swinney Vol. II, pgs. 846-853. No FFL required, gun is
an antique.
