Colt Lightning 32 Pump Action Rifle
Colt Lightening .32 is categorized as a feild grade with the medium stock. Serial #15542 shows that it was made around 1883. Pump action, field grade. The chamber is A+ working condition. 26 inch fully rifled barrel, Rocky Mountain front sight, and an adjustable plain dove-tail v-notch with elevation rear sight. Trigger has a standard smooth finish, hammer is standard, with the half cock safety that is fuctional. Barrel is blued approximately with 85% coverage, turning to brown. It has a tube magazine. The receiver / frame has minor spotting near front rocky mountain sight, and around rear sight. Would rate higher if not for the cracks in the stock and chip in the toe. The receiver is silver turning to brown. The forend has some minor wear, the checkering is good. The stock has minor cracking in wrist, but still solid. Minor scratches and cracking. The markings on the barrel are "32 Cal.", Colts PT FA MFG Co. Hartford CT U.S.A. / +Elliot's Patents May 29, 1883. Sept 18, 1883+", Rampant Colt on the side of the receiver. Overall excellant functional condition, rifeling is good and exhibits lead fowling. The bore is very good condition, there are a couple of spots showing pitting at about mid point in the length of the bore. Main detraction is the cracks in the stock. FFL required.
